I love chairs that need some tlc, chairs in which no one sees potential. A good scrubbing and a nice coat of paint does wonders.
How I pick the color for a piece is hard to explain, I look at the curves, read my emotions about it, and a color pops up in my mind. I know, it's not exactly scientific, but that's what I call listening to your heart.
I was so excited to get started on this one, that I forgot to take before pictures. It's a solid wood chair, very sturdy, and was stained a light honey color. It was begging to be restyled.
I chose Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Provence, with a coat of clear wax to seal it. Buffed it and decided on not distressing it. Here's the end result.

My first post...What I love...
I'm one of those people who goes through many phases, meaning, I start many things, do it for a while, then I move on to doing something else. This is especially true since I quit my office job to stay at home with my children. Before that, I did not have much time to be creative, however gardening and growing pretty flowers was a passion of mine since I was a little girl.
I believe we were made to be creative, although many might say they are not or cannot be, I'd say they just haven't looked hard enough, the talent is deep within us. Whether it's writing, photography, painting, woodwork, gardening, cooking, there is something out there for everyone. Some people may have many talents, some just one, what matters is to follow your heart's desire to create and be mindful.
In this blog, I will share my passion with you focusing on refinished, restyled furniture pieces and flowers of course, but, at times, it may be a new healthy recipe, since good eating habits are one of my top priorities, or it may be a potted plant I brought back to life, or a little treasure I found at a flea market or yard sale. It may be my work, or my dear friend's, Karen's work, who always tries to follow her heart and is very crafty. Whatever my post may be, my hope is to inspire you to find that little spark in your heart and turn it into a burning fire.
Sending my love,
Eniko
